Sarah Sirota has over a decade of experience in the test preparation and college application fields in a variety of roles including tutor, college counselor, content writer and company manager. As a tutor, Sarah has traveled internationally to work with students in England and Greece in preparation for the SAT I and SAT Subject Tests. She has worked at some of New York's top boutique tutoring companies, and has extensive experience in a variety of exams and subjects (including the ISEE, SHSAT, ACT, SAT and GRE), with students of all ages. As a college counselor, Sarah guides families through the application process from soup to nuts, helping students select schools and draft essays as well as choose competitive classes and extra-curricular activities. Sarah has helped numerous students gain acceptance to the school of their choice, including Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, Dartmouth, Cornell, Columbia and many of the country's other top colleges.
After graduating Cum Laude from Dartmouth College, Sarah became the Vice President of CATES Tutoring, where she was responsible for hiring and training a full roster of tutors. Sarah left New York to pursue her MFA in Acting from the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, where she currently teaches as an Adjunct Professor. As a tutor, Sarah aims to develop each student's intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills beyond the scope of whatever exam he or she is preparing for. Her artistic background enables her to connect with students from many different walks of life, and cultivates creativity and a sense of play in her students.
When not tutoring, Sarah can be found performing on stage or hanging out in Brooklyn with her husband and Persian cat, Oliver.
