    Danielle

As an essay coach, Danielle is intentional about nurturing students' writing ability. Her teaching style is both empathetic and dynamic, combining years of experience in reflective essay writing with a deep belief in each student’s creativity and potential. She views the college application essay writing process as a transformative experience—one that builds students’ confidence in expressing themselves with precision and impact.

Danielle earned her B.A. in English with a Creative Writing minor from UC Berkeley and an M.A. in Humanities from the University of Chicago. There, she served as a tutor and writing instructor within the Humanities Core, helping freshmen deepen their understanding of analytical writing in response to literature, film, and visual art.

Danielle has published work in Michigan Quarterly Review: Mixtape, The Rumpus, and the Asian American Writers' Workshop. Her work has been nominated for the PEN/Robert J. Dau Prize for Emerging Writers and Best New Poets 2025, and has received recognition from Puerto del Sol and Gulf Coast. She is working on a novel that has received support through funded artist residencies and public readings. Apart from writing as an art practice, Danielle reviews books for Zyzzyva Magazine and volunteers as a journalism coach with Prison Journalism Project. She enjoys film photography and a good arthouse movie.
