Mariama
As a counselor with College Prep 360, Mariama brings over a decade of experience in highly selective college admissions. She began her admissions career at Brown University, where she served as an Admission Officer and evaluated applications from students across the U.S. and around the world. During her time in the Brown Admission Office, she also served on the science recruitment team and the evaluation team for Brown’s highly selective Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME), gaining firsthand insight into how top universities assess academic strength, intellectual curiosity, character, and fit.
While Mariama brings specialized expertise to students pursuing STEM fields and BS/MD programs, she loves working with students across the academic spectrum, including humanities, social sciences, arts, and interdisciplinary applicants. She is especially skilled at helping students move beyond the “checklist” approach to admissions and instead build applications that are thoughtful, cohesive, and true to who they are.
Her advising style is grounded in careful listening, strategic thinking, and genuine curiosity about each student’s story. Mariama believes that the strongest applications emerge when students feel both understood and challenged: understood enough to present themselves authentically, and challenged enough to deepen their interests, sharpen their goals, and communicate their potential with clarity.
Mariama lives in Rhode Island with her husband and two children. Outside of counseling, she enjoys spending time by the water, reading, exploring cultures and languages, and working on puzzles.
